Macular degeneration is a major cause of deteriorating sight in old age for which conventional medicine has little to offer. The cells at the back of the eye which detect light and convert this into nerve impulses to the brain are easily damaged and degenerate with time. However this damage can be slowed by taking antioxidants and zinc. Environmental doctors can give plenty of examples of patients whose vision has been much improved through taking supplements, (I have a patient who could only count fingers before supplements, but could read a large print book after) but a recent study showed that people with early macular degeneration can prevent or slow further degeneration.

Overall, accumulated study data demonstrate that the IVP-designed new vision-saving drugs, including N-acetylcarnosine eyedrops, promote health vision and prevent vision disability from senile cataracts, primary open-angle glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and aging.
